Incoming 9th Grade Testing

The San Mateo Union High School District Welcomes You to High School Testing for New Freshmen Class


iStock 000016940545 Large.jpgEighth grade students who plan to attend school in the San Mateo Union High School District will be meeting with guidance staff to choose classes for the ninth grade year at Aragon, Burlingame, Capuchino, Hillsdale, Mills or San Mateo High School.

 

The SMUHSD has adopted the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) and the Scholastic Math Inventory (SMI) as placement tests. Guidance staff will use these results along with transcripts and results from the 8th grade California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) to help inform parents and students regarding course selections. All incoming 9th graders must be tested.

In the near future, eighth grade students who plan to attend school in the San Mateo Union High School District (SMUHSD) will be meeting with guidance staff to choose classes for the ninth grade year at all six high schools. The SMUHSD has adopted the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) and the Scholastic Math Inventory (SMI) as placement tests. Guidance staff will use these results along with transcripts and results from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) to help advise parents and students regarding course choices. All incoming freshmen must be tested.
